The moment when David gazes upon another David and radiates with a distinctly human-like expression. It made me ponder – if I saw another version of myself, identical in every way, bearing the same name Gamja, I think I'd find it significantly unsettling. Because I'd believed that I'm the one and only 'me,' the notion of multiple versions of myself would've broken a big portion of my world.
(천선란 작가의 단편 중 <옥수수밭과 형>이라는 인간 복제 관련 스릴러가 생각나기도 했다. 나를 '나'라고 칭할 수 있게 만드는 요소들은 무엇일지.. )

Can a robot really throw itself into water, considering it's just a robot? I believe this aspect showcases the 'human' side of David. David is programmed to be human-like. And humans are inherently human-like, not through programming. But what's the big deal about the difference between the two?
A robot festival where robots that know how to feel pain are ruthlessly slaughtered and killed... Ethically speaking, is there much of a difference between killing animals with sentience and killing robots? Even more so when the A.I. robots are more intelligent beings. The movie drew out these questions...
Why should a mech, which is emotional, self-interested, and has sentience, be treated differently from humans? There are various perspectives on ethical considerations, where anthropocentrism claims only humans possess moral status due to 'rational reasoning' and animal centrism uses criteria like the higher mammals or sentience. However, A.I., though not a mammal, is a sentient being that detects threats, experiences pain, and harbors emotions. It's the subject of its own life. Ironically, when we move away from anthropocentrism, the focus shifts to 'life,' i.e., biocentric perspective, an area where A.I. falls short. That's the difference between organic and mechanic.
But he does love.

Spielberg possesses the ability to portray films in a fairytale-like manner. The story of A.I. being designed to love its mother and fulfill that mission until it falls asleep.. truly rings in our hearts.

+The scene where the blue fairy talks to David reminded me of the third act(the theater part) of Beau is Afraid.
